German inflation declines further in March, confirmed at 2.2%.

German inflation eased to 2.2% in March, the lowest level in nearly three years, due to lower food and energy prices compared to a year earlier. Consumer prices were 2.2% higher than in the same month last year, according to Germany's Federal Statistical Office, Destatis. This is the lowest inflation rate since April 2021, when it was 2.0%. Food prices were 0.7% lower year-on-year, and energy prices were 2.7% lower.
