Defence Minister Rajnath Singh explained that the BJP welcomed Nitish Kumar and his JDU party back into the NDA fold due to the latter's lack of corruption allegations. After briefly joining the Mahagathbandhan (grand alliance) with RJD, Congress, Nitish returned to the NDA earlier this year and took oath as the chief minister for the ninth time, with BJP and other ruling alliance constituents supporting him.
