China's iron ore imports rose 0.5% year-on-year in March, reaching 100.72 million metric tons amid expectations of increased demand post-Lunar New Year. In Q1 2024, China's iron ore imports totaled 310.13 million tons, a 5.5% increase from the previous year. Chinese steel exports increased by 25.35% in March year-on-year, reaching 9.89 million tons, the highest since July 2016. The weak domestic demand in China due to property crisis has led to increased exports.
