Bus Éireann launches a €54 million electric bus fleet in Limerick, Ireland, as part of a National Transport Authority (NTA) investment. The fleet includes 55 new double-decker buses, with 34 battery-electric buses already in operation and 21 more set to join the service in early 2025. To support the roll-out, 35 charging stations will be installed at Bus Éireann's Roxboro depot, with 15 already installed and operational. The new buses are expected to support over 2.1 million kilometers of emission-free travel annually, contributing to a greener public transport solution for Limerick residents.
