23-year-old Leigha Michelle Day was sentenced to life in prison for stabbing St. Lucie County Sheriff's Office Deputy Cody Colangelo during a 2022 car crash scene. Deputy Colangelo, who survived the attack, missed 2.5 months of work. Day was found guilty of first-degree attempted murder of a law enforcement officer, leaving the scene of an accident causing property damage, and driving with a suspended license.
