Women in cybersecurity face exclusion twice as much as men, primarily in respect, career growth, access, and recognition.
A study by Women in CyberSecurity (WiCyS) and Aleria reveals that women face exclusion at twice the rate of men in the cybersecurity workplace. The top four categories of exclusion experienced by women are respect, career and growth, access and participation, and recognition. These findings highlight the need to address the "boys club" mentality and barriers to women's success in cybersecurity careers, as well as improving corporate culture and hiring practices.
