Blackstone, a US private equity giant, acquires a controlling 50.7% stake in Irish data center company Winthrop Technologies for over €800M. The deal allows Winthrop, a major data center construction player in Europe, to accelerate growth and capitalize on rising cloud adoption and AI demand. Existing shareholders, including founder Barry English and group CEO Anne Dooley, retain remaining shares.
