Paramount develops first R-rated TMNT movie, "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin," with Walter Hamada producing and Tyler Burton Smith writing.

Paramount is developing a new R-rated, live-action Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie titled "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin." The film, an adaptation of the IDW comic miniseries, is set in a dystopian future and is expected to be the first R-rated feature film in the franchise's history. Walter Hamada, former head of DC Films, will produce the movie, and Tyler Burton Smith, co-writer of the upcoming action film "Boy Kills World," is set to write the script.
