Nigerian Minister of Education proposes half-salary payment to striking university staff if approved by President.

Nigeria's Minister of Education, Tahir Mamman, has announced that non-academic university staff may receive half of their withheld salaries if President Bola Tinubu approves payment. This comes after SSANU and NASU staff went on strike for a week due to alleged unfair treatment and salary disparities by the Nigerian government. The government is considering approving payment to NASU and SSANU members based on a court judgement on "no work, no pay."
