Massachusetts House leaders propose a $57.9 billion budget for fiscal year 2025, with a 3.3% spending increase and no major tax hikes.

Massachusetts House leaders have unveiled a $57.9 billion budget plan for the fiscal year 2025, set to begin on July 1, which includes a 3.3% increase in spending compared to the current budget. The proposed budget, slightly less than the one proposed by Gov. Maura Healey in January, does not call for any major tax hikes and makes use of $1.3 billion in new one-time or recurring revenues, such as legalizing online Lottery sales and redirecting money that would otherwise be saved. The budget plan also earmarks funds for Massachusetts House fiscal 2025 budget at a press conference Wednesday.
