Kitchener, Ontario receives $14m from provincial gov't for surpassing 2023 housing targets. The funds come from the Building Faster Fund, a $1.2bn, 3-year initiative rewarding municipalities for meeting housing goals. Kitchener's 3,579 new housing units last year exceeded its target, allowing it to use the funds for community development and infrastructure projects to facilitate further housing construction.
