Gauteng e-tolls officially end, but historic debts remain payable.

E-toll beeps will officially end on Friday, with motorists still seeing invoices after the fact. On Thursday, Transport Minister Sindisiwe Chikunga provided an update on future plans following the decision by the national government to officially scrap e-tolls in Gauteng. As of Thursday, road users in Gauteng will no longer be charged for e-tolls. However, those with historic debt are still required to pay it.
