DNV grants HD Hyundai Mipo Dockyard AiP for ammonia-powered 45,000 m3 LPG carrier designs.

DNV has granted HD Hyundai Mipo Dockyard an Approval in Principle (AiP) for ammonia-powered 45,000 m3 LPG carrier designs. The new dual-fuel propulsion system, based on a 10,000 hp dual-fuel two-stroke engine, selectively uses ammonia or Marine Diesel Oil. These vessels aim to meet the IMO's greenhouse gas strategy, with the potential for zero CO2 emissions during combustion.
