Businessman avoids prison and pays €1,500 in child maintenance arrears after a judge sends him to the courthouse cells for 30 minutes of reflection. Judge Alec Gabbett was satisfied the man had "significant funds" in his company account, allowing him to generate over €100,000 in annual revenue. The man had initially attempted to reduce his €300 weekly maintenance payment, but was ordered to pay the arrears in full.
