Agriculture CS Mithika Linturi tells Senate Committee that there is no fake fertiliser in Kenya, only substandard ones, with macronutrients falling short of agreed requirements. Linturi remains non-committal on a compensation framework for affected farmers, stating that they will be given top-dressing fertiliser at an additional fee. In a previous incident, NCPB banned fertilisers from Ken Chemicals Limited and KEL Chemicals due to not meeting KEBS standards.
