French athlete Anouk Garnier broke the world record for rope climbing, scaling the Eiffel Tower in 18 minutes. Garnier, a two-time world champion obstacle course racer, climbed 110 meters (361 feet) to the second story of the tower, surpassing the previous record held by South Africa's Thomas Van Tonder. Garnier raised money for France's League Against Cancer, a cause close to her heart.
