The US Air Force plans to invest heavily in AI-powered warplanes and is betting on a fleet of over 1,000 autonomously operated drones for its future air warfare. Air Force Secretary Frank Kendall revealed that later this spring, he will enter the cockpit of an AI-operated F-16 to test the drone's performance. This shift towards AI-operated warplanes is part of the Air Force's 2025 budget.
