A University of Florida-led study shows noninvasive brain stimulation treatment, TDCS (transcranial direct current stimulation), improved depression and anxiety symptoms among older adults. The treatment benefits persisted at a one-year follow-up. The findings suggest TDCS could serve as a noninvasive, drug-free option to treat depression and anxiety, which affect 1 in 4 older adults.
