The UK government has committed £714m to boost rural broadband coverage in 2024, raising the total investment in next-generation connections to £1.3bn. Nearly 380,000 homes and businesses across the country will benefit from contracts awarded this year, including Devon and the Isles of Scilly. This investment forms part of the UK Government's £5bn Project Gigabit programme, aiming to provide full fibre broadband to 85% of UK homes by 2025.
