5th India-Kazakhstan Joint Working Group on Counter Terrorism met in Astana to discuss counter-terrorism challenges and cross-border terrorism in South Asia and Afghanistan-Pakistan region.

India and Kazakhstan assessed counter-terrorism challenges and exchanged views on cross-border terrorism in South Asia during a joint working group meeting in Astana. Both sides discussed terrorist threats in their respective regions, including state-sponsored cross-border terrorism in South Asia and terror activities in the Afghanistan-Pakistan region. The 5th meeting of the India-Kazakhstan Joint Working Group on Counter Terrorism was held on April 8, with delegates from both countries led by Joint Secretary (CT), KD Dewal, and Ambassador-at-Large, Talgat Kaliyev.
