Occidental Petroleum plans to restart Gulf of Mexico oil production after receiving approval following a pipeline leak last year.

Occidental Petroleum Corp. plans to restart Gulf of Mexico oil production in the coming days after being asked to curtail output due to a third-party pipeline leak last year. Production will resume from assets in the eastern part of the Gulf following a leak at the Main Pass Oil Gathering system in November. Occidental is awaiting final regulatory approvals before restarting production.
