Mississippi Senate has blocked a House proposal to revise the state's school funding formula. Senate Education Committee Chairman Dennis DeBar has proposed discussions on school funding after the current legislative session ends in May, before the next session begins in January. The House's proposed INSPIRE Act would replace the Mississippi Adequate Education Program, which has been fully funded only two years since its implementation in 1997.
