1.9 million unexploded ordnance devices cleared in Laos since 1996, the world's most heavily bombed country per capita.
1.9 million unexploded ordnance (UXO) devices cleared from 87,323 hectares in Laos since 1996, preventing injuries and deaths. Laos is the world's most heavily bombed country per capita, with 2 million tons of ordnance dropped between 1964-1973, leaving 80 million live bomblets scattered. The "Road to Security III" plan addresses UXO issues, and since 2015, 2,846 UXO-related accident victims received assistance.
