Melbourne researchers discover blood protein alpha-1-antichymotrypsin (alpha-1-ACT) as a potential biomarker for delayed recovery from concussion in children. Study conducted at Royal Children's Hospital found lower levels of this protein in children with delayed recovery. With concussion a growing public health concern, researchers aim to develop a tool to identify those at risk of delayed recovery.
