The historic Lido Theatre in The Pas, Manitoba, a 1929 movie theatre with an orchestra pit and one of the first to feature sound, was severely damaged by a fire suspected to be arson. The theatre had been closed since 2019 but efforts to reopen it were ongoing. The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) is currently seeking information from the public regarding the fire.
