1,517 homes have been bought using the Irish government's €400m First Home Scheme, a 118% increase in homes bought in Q1 2024 compared to the same period last year. The scheme, designed to assist first-time buyers and others with the gap between mortgage, deposit, and home prices, has provided over €100m in supports for 4,005 buyers so far. Applications for the scheme have increased almost 50% year-on-year.
