Singapore reported 9,783 e-commerce scam cases in 2023, up from 4,762 cases in 2022, according to the Ministry of Home Affairs. Nearly half of e-commerce scams occurred on Facebook, with cases rising from 1,138 to 4,550. Amazon, Lazada, Qoo10, and Shopee received full ticks in the E-commerce Marketplace Transaction Safety Ratings, while Facebook received the lowest rating.
