Coherent Corp., a semiconductor provider, received $15M from CHIPS Act of 2022, dedicated to enhancing US semiconductor supply chain. Funds will be used to accelerate commercialization of next-gen wide- and ultrawide-bandgap semiconductors, applied in electrification, smart grids, and AI data centers. Funding is through CLAWS Hub, a Sandia National Labs, Univ of New Mexico, and AFRL collaboration.
