A Canadian study published in The Lancet Planetary Health found that fans offer negligible protection from extreme heat (over 33°C) in cooling the human body. Contrary to recent suggestions, experts from the University of Ottawa's Human and Environmental Physiology Research Unit conducted over 116,000 biophysical models and lab heat wave simulations to support their conclusion.
