51-year-old Guyanese national and Barbados resident died after falling from a 30-40ft scaffolding during construction work at Apes Hill, St James. The incident occurred around 8:20 a.m., and another worker, aged 50, was injured and transported to hospital with back and lower limb pains. The deceased man fell onto a piece of steel and was impaled on the spot.
