The Welsh Ambulance Service is exploring the use of drones to deliver defibrillators to patients experiencing cardiac arrest, in collaboration with the University of Warwick and drone experts SkyBound Rescuer. With over 6,000 cases of cardiac arrest in Wales annually, rapid access to a defibrillator and starting CPR can make a significant difference in survival rates. Drones could be particularly beneficial in rural areas where response times may be slower.
