US small-business sentiment reached its lowest level in 11 years in March due to inflation concerns, as indicated by the NFIB's Small Business Optimism Index.

Small-business sentiment in the US slumped to the lowest level in over 11 years in March due to rising inflation concerns, according to the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB). The survey indicated that the Small Business Optimism Index fell 0.9 points to 88.5, the lowest level since December 2012. This marks the 27th consecutive month the index has been below the 50-year average of 98. Over a quarter of small business owners cited inflation as their single most important problem, with higher input and labor costs playing a significant role.
