Transport Minister Simeon Brown supports NZ Transport Agency's plan to consult on raising speed limits on Kāpiti Expressway to 110km/h. The consultation will start on 22 April and last four weeks. The move aims to boost economic growth and productivity by reducing travel times and increasing efficiency for travel in and out of Wellington. The Kāpiti Expressway has a high safety standard, with no fatalities recorded since it opened.
