Taiwan's investment in Vietnam reached $2.2 billion in 2023, quadrupling year-on-year and making Taiwan the 4th largest investor in Vietnam, out of 105 countries and territories. Taiwan has become Vietnam's 5th largest trading partner. Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment Tran Duy Dong praised Taiwanese enterprises for their contribution to Vietnam's economic development, fostering technology transfer, increasing local material use, and upskilling the Vietnamese workforce. Vietnam-Taiwan business forum highlighted the remarkable growth in Taiwan's investment in Vietnam and opportunities for cooperation in advanced technology, electronics industry, semiconductors, circular economy, innovation, and renewable energy.
