Swedish ferry operator Stena Line acquires 49% stake in Moroccan ferry firm Africa Morocco Link (AML) to expand operations outside Europe.

Swedish ferry operator Stena Line has agreed to buy a 49% stake in Moroccan ferry firm Africa Morocco Link (AML) to expand its operations outside Europe. AML operates ferry routes between Tanger Med and Algeciras, Spain, and plans to launch a new high-speed route between Tangier Ville and Tarifa this summer. Stena Line CEO, Niclas Mårtensson, sees the strategically located Strait of Gibraltar as an area with significant potential for future passenger and freight traffic due to Morocco's positive industrial growth and international trade. The acquisition is subject to approval by Moroccan authorities.
