The court granted interim relief by allowing Sharma not to surrender until the next date of hearing. Sharma is challenging the Bombay High Court's reversal of his acquittal and life imprisonment sentence in the 2006 fake encounter case involving Ram Narayan Gupta, an alleged Chhota Rajan gang member.
