North China's Tianjin Port reports a 7.2% year-on-year increase in container throughput (5.41 million TEUs) in Q1, with cargo throughput reaching 118 million tonnes, up 3.2%. The port launched a direct shipping route for Chilean cherries, marking its first service to the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region. Tianjin Port, situated on the Bohai Sea coast, has 145 open container routes and trades with over 500 ports in more than 180 countries.
