Prosecutors dropped charges against Aaron Harley James, accused of killing his 16-month-old stepson Jaylen. James, 35, had been in custody for over two years and was committed to stand trial for murder. He pleaded not guilty to manslaughter when prosecutors presented a new indictment to the Brisbane Supreme Court. The Crown decided not to proceed with charges against Mr. James, leading to his release. Jaylen's death was ruled an awful tragedy, with no evidence of violence or mistreatment by James.
