Pakistani lawyer Zahid Mahmood Goraya has been sentenced to six months in jail and fined PKR100,000 by the Lahore High Court (LHC) for using foul language against a judge, Justice Sultan Tanvir Ahmad, during a hearing. The LHC Chief Justice, Malik Shahzad Ahmad Khan, ruled that Goraya's behavior amounted to contempt of court. Despite submitting an unconditional apology, the court proceeded with the contempt charges.
