NFL approves eight new position-specific helmets for QBs and linemen; available for 2024 season.
The NFL and NFL Players Association have approved eight new position-specific helmets for quarterbacks and linemen, with two designed for quarterbacks and six for offensive and defensive linemen. The new helmets are designed to mitigate impacts most likely to be sustained by individual positions and will be available for the 2024 season. A record 12 new helmet models have been approved, with five testing better than any helmet ever worn in the league.
