Historic England grants protection status to London's last surviving Grade-II listed cabmen's shelter, 'The Chapel.'

London's last surviving Grade-II listed cabmen's shelter, known as 'The Chapel,' on Wellington Place near Regent's Park, has been granted protection status. The shelter, which has provided rest to taxi drivers since 1914, is the final remaining shelter in London to receive protection by Historic England. The 13 remaining shelters, built between 1875 and 1914, are recognized for their architectural and historical importance.
