German exports fell 2% in February, down to €132.9 billion, while imports increased by 3.2% to €111.5 billion. Despite positive early indicators, the country's foreign trade remains under pressure, with declining competitiveness, trade barriers and protectionism affecting exporters and foreign traders. Germany's trade surplus fell to €21.4 billion in February, from €27.6 billion in January and €16.9 billion in February 2023.
