FTSE 100 index rose 0.41% on Monday, higher mining stocks and easyJet's recovery drove the increase.
The FTSE 100 index closed 0.41% higher at 7943.47 on Monday, with mining stocks and easyJet contributing to the rise. Miners gained from the record gold price, while easyJet recovered from Friday's losses. Entain shares also rose by 3%, following reports that buyout firm Apollo is considering the gaming firm's portfolio. However, AstraZeneca and Vodafone were among the heavier stocks that dropped by around 1%.
