FDA recalls Aruba Aloe hand sanitizers due to methanol contamination, posing health risks.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has recalled Aruba Aloe Hand Sanitizer Gel Alcohol 80% and Aruba Aloe Alcoholada Gel due to contamination with methanol, a highly poisonous substance. The recall affects 40 lots of the products, which were sold online between May 2021 and October 2023. Methanol exposure can lead to severe health issues such as death, coma, seizures, permanent blindness, and permanent nervous system damage.
