Tauranga's Edgecumbe House boarding establishment has been ordered to pay $37k in damages by the Tenancy Tribunal for tenancy law breaches, including removing hot water taps, lack of heating, and inadequate cooking facilities. The ministry's Tenancy Compliance and Investigations Team found no oven, a disconnected heater, and hot water tap removals during their June 2022 investigation.
