Chevron exits Yadana natural gas field in Myanmar, transferring stake to PTT and Myanma Oil, amid coup and humanitarian crisis.

US energy firm Chevron has left the Yadana natural gas field in Myanmar, nearly two years after condemning violence and human rights abuses there. Rather than selling its 41.1% stake, Chevron has transferred it to the remaining shareholders, Thailand's PTT Exploration and Production and Myanma Oil and Gas Enterprise. Chevron's exit comes in the wake of the military coup in February 2021 and ongoing humanitarian crisis in Myanmar.
