Canada's new defence policy announced increase in military spending.

Canada's new defence policy, announced by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, is expected to increase military spending to 1.76% of GDP by 2029-30, falling short of NATO's 2% target. The plan includes $8.1bn in new spending over the next five years, focused on Arctic security and modernizing continental defenses. Despite this, Canada still does not have a timeline for reaching NATO's 2% spending target.
