An off-duty NYPD officer, Avijit Boiragee, 33, was arrested and charged with assault and harassment in Brooklyn's 61st Precinct on Sunday at 4 a.m., according to the NYPD. Boiragee, who began working as a police officer in 2021, is assigned to the 68th Precinct in Bay Ridge. Further details on the arrest have not been disclosed.
