41-year-old Irish woman, Sarah McNally, originally from Co Longford, was killed in a stabbing incident at a bar in New York City on March 30th. She lived in the US for several years and worked at the Ceili House Bar in Queens. Her funeral in Longford remembered her as a "shining light" and "heart of gold." McNally's boyfriend, Marcin Pieciak, has been charged with her murder.
