Western Australia's Cook Government invests $10m to enhance school crossing safety, extending 40 km/h speed limits and installing electronic speed limit signs.

Western Australia's Cook Government has announced a $10 million investment to enhance safety at warden-controlled school crossings statewide. This funding will extend the 40 km/h speed limit to all such crossings outside designated school zones, and support electronic speed limit signage installation at 93 sites with current speed limits of 60 km/h or above, and static signage at 72 locations with speed limits of 50 km/h. The program is planned to be implemented over the coming years, funded by the Road Safety Commission's Road Trauma Trust Account.
